The Exeter Independent Evangelical Church (EIEC) was constituted in 1999. It was felt that the establishment of a new fellowship in Exeter was warranted since there was no Reformed Baptist fellowship in the Exeter area.
Tom Cook has been a Church Elder since EIEC was constituted. He was formerly a member of the Camberwell Evangelical Church in South East London before moving to the West Country with his job in 1991.
Brian Ashley was elected as a Church Elder at the beginning of 2004, having moved to Exeter from Barnstaple. Brian was formerly a member of Whiddon Valley Evangelical Church in Barnstaple, serving as a Deacon and Church Secretary.
Although we are an independent fellowship, we have links with like-minded fellowships in the South-West and throughout the UK.
Our constitution provides that nothing shall be taught in the church save that which is consistent with the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith (with permitted reservations).
